The brief

We created this commercial to promote the new online platform and smartphone app Crocodile, which was born out of the Green Capital Digital Challenge. This App is for schools and parents to facilitate the organisation of walking buses and helps engage children through a reward system. The film needed to show how safe and simple the app is to use and also the environmental and social interaction benefits of walking children to school.

The shoot

To keep costs low for this start up we shot the whole advert in a single day and used friends instead of actors. We wanted to show the App’s core features without making this a product demo film, so we used a mixture of real life and in-app screens which we added using greenscreen technology and motion graphics.

The result

Crocodile won the green capital prize of £50,000 and aims to continue to develop the app further, to cycling and scooting.
